Volunteer Coordinator
A native of Damascus Virginia, Sharon Atkins, serves as Volunteer Coordinator for the United Way of Russell and Washington Counties. She is responsible for organizing volunteer efforts for the tornado victims of April 27, 2011.
Prior to joining United Way in May, 2011, she was a loan specialist with Farm Credit of the Virginias. She retired in 2008 with 33 years of service.
She enjoys her grandchildren, spending time with family and decorating. She has a daughter, Amy Addison Perrigan and husband Keith, they live in Abingdon, VA. A step-son, Jimmy and Tabitha Atkins, live in Lexington, Ky. She has four grandchildren, Alexis and Isaac Perrigan and Austin and Cameron Atkins. She currently resides in Damascus, VA with her husband Robert.
